Gifted & Talented Application

State-licensed (from any state) teachers in elementary, secondary, and/or special education can apply to participate in this program. Applicants must also provide record of their teaching experience, preferably in a public school setting.

Minimum Qualifications for Admission:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • State teaching license (from any state) to teach elementary, secondary, or special education
  • Teaching experience, preferably in a public school setting

Admissions Process

1. Submit Application Form.
2. Submit two official transcripts from each institution previously attended. These transcripts may be submitted with your application if they are in the sealed envelope provided by the college/university. Otherwise, please have the transcripts mailed directly to the address listed below under Application Materials.
3. Submit two letters of recommendation using the recommendation forms provided. If the applicant is currently teaching, one letter must be submitted from his or her direct administrator (i.e., school principal). If the applicant has other teaching experience, letters verifying successful experience would be helpful (i.e., fellow teacher).

Please note that this endorsement is offered primarily to school districts participating in the BYU-Public School Partnership (Alpine, Jordan, Nebo, Provo, and Wasatch). Participation from districts or schools not in the Partnership will be on a space-available basis. Please contact the CITES office with any questions.
