Gifted and Talented Tuition & Schedule

Schedule

The Gifted and Talented Endorsement takes two years to complete. Classes are taught at various places, and vary according to the Gifted and Talented Committee's instructions. A schedule of when and where courses will be taught will be published and distributed by the Gifted and Talented Committee for each new 2-year endorsement cycle. The courses are scheduled as follows:

Winter semester 2008:  Identification of the Gifted (CPSE 609 - 2 credits)

TBA:  Practica in Gifted and Talented (CPSE 630 - 2 credits)

TBA:  Elective - Approved in Gifted and Talented (2 credits)

Fall semester 2007:  Education of the Gifted (CPSE 518 - 2 credits)

Winter semester 2008:  Creative Thinking Strategies (CPSE 545 - 2 credits)

Spring/Summer semester 2008:  Models and Systems of the Gifted in Education (CPSE 620 - 2 credits)

Fall semester 2008:  Curriculum in Gifted Education (CPSE 621 - 2 credits)

Winter semester 2009:  Identification of the Gifted (CPSE 609 - 2 credits)

Tuition

Fees for courses taught off-campus have been established as follows (as of April 2003):

  • 2 credit course = $140.00 per candidate
  • 3 credit course = $150.00 per candidate
  • 4 credit course = $180.00 per candidate

Each course includes a BYU Continuing Education Posting Fee:

  • $40.00 per 2 credit course
  • $50.00 per 3 credit course
  • $80.00 per 4 credit course
