Three-tiered model of school supports and the problem-solving process

The theme for the January 2010 Leaders Associates meeting was Responding to Data about Student Performance. We addressed

  • ways to use data to determine areas of success and challenge for all learners,
  • research and implementation relating to response to intervention (RtI) programs as a means to increase student learning,
  • practical considerations surrounding a change in culture to support professional learning communities in using student data.

The theme for the September 2009 Leaders Associates meeting was Ensuring Every Student Learns. We addressed

  • the history of Leadership Associates and the purposes of our biannual meetings
  • changes in the accreditation processes K-16 and the national trends toward increased teacher accountability for student learning
  • issues of curriculum and assessment to increase student achievement
  • trends in educational assessment, school accountability, and teacher education
