EdS School Psychology: Application Requirements
Students admitted to the EdS Program in School Psychology must have completed a bachelor’s degree. Undergraduate degrees in the areas of education and social science (psychology, sociology, human development, and family sciences) are preferred but not required. Students with a bachelor's degree in another field will also be considered.
Possible preparatory courses include education and psychology courses such as principles of learning and cognition, research design and analysis, abnormal psychology, personality, and child and adolescent development.
Graduate Record Exam (GRE)
Competitive applicants should earn GRE scores at or above the 50th percentile on Verbal, Quantitative, and Writing sections.

Grade Point Average (GPA)
Undergraduate GPA must be calculated and included in application. A GPA of 3.5 or above is considered competitive.
All international applicants must submit a Financial Certification Form and Contract of Support. Those who do not have a bacherlor’s degree from a U.S. institution of higher education must complete the TOEFL.
The Department of Counseling Psychology and Special Education requires the same minimum TOEFL scores as the university. For more information about the TOEFL exam, please click here.
After reviewing the applicants’ materials, a faculty screening committee determines which applicants to invite to campus for individual and group interviews.
Information provided by applicants as well as candidate interviews and previous academic and professional experience are considered when evaluating personal and social characteristics considered necessary for successful performance in the field of school psychology.
