Qualifications:

• An earned master's degree in special education or related field
• K-12 school teaching experience
• Record of or potential for high quality university instruction and supervision
• Record of or potential for service to the university and to the profession
• An understanding of the current literature, trends, and issues in special education

Desired Area of Specialization:  Mild to moderate disabilities

Other Desirable Areas of Expertise:

• Multicultural special education
• Direct instruction
• Curriculum-based assessment
• Collaboration

Additional Qualifications for Which Preference Will Be Given:

• A history of successful collaboration with colleagues, other university faculty members, and public school personnel
• Skills and dispositions to supervise and mentor university students

Responsibilities:

• Teach and mentor undergraduate students
• Administer the mild/moderate summer practicum, including supervising  site coordinators and mentor teachers
• Provide meaningful university and professional service
• Supervise student teachers, interns, and other student field work
• Work collaboratively with the local districts in planning for and implementing the summer practicum

Salary: Based on credentials and experience
