Having gone through the BYU SPED program, I feel I gained the skills necessary for me to start my career and feel confident in my abilities to work with students who have severe disabilities in a variety of areas such as math, reading, social skills, behavior management, data collection, writing IEP's, working with aides and other teachers, and much more. It gave me a solid foundation that I have built on to become a stronger teacher and professional in the special education field.

The special education program at Brigham Young University was the perfect environment for me to learn how to deliver specialized instruction to students with severe/profound disabilities.  The faculty is enthusiastic and supportive, the classes are functional and engaging, and there is no other place in the world that provides a more nurturing environment for learning than Brigham Young University.  If I could repeat my undergraduate work again, I would still go through the special education program at Brigham Young University.
