Professional Organizations
Collaborating with other educators can greatly facilitate multicultural skill development. Association with professional organizations is one way to network with other professionals, obtain useful information/resources, and become involved in the national dialogue.

National Association for Multicultural Education
- This organization is useful for P–12 educators. It is especially helpful for those who want to explore ideas and concerns about multicultural education.
National Multicultural Institute
- This organization strives to help create a society that is strengthened and empowered through diversity.
Center for Research on Education, Diversity, and Excellence (CREDE)
- A federally funded research organization, CREDE's mission is to help diverse students reach their educational potential.
National Association for Bilingual Education
- Exclusively concerned with language minority students in the American school system.
- This organization provides resource for parents and educators. Their primary mission is to transform schools into socially equitable centers, allowing students to have a better opportunity to improve their future.
- Dedicating efforts to improving higher education, this organization provides many resources for college and post secondary educators who want to include more multicultural information in the curriculum.
The Institute for Urban and Minority Education
- This organization aspires to assist the educational, psychological, and social development of urban and non-dominant students.
National Organization on Disability (NOD)
- This organization provides ideas about how to raise public awareness about disabilities and provides resources for individuals with disabilities.
Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages
- TESOL is the national organization for educators working with ESL issues.
