Area of Discipline / Professional Expertise
- Educational policy and social change
- Law and education
- Politics and education
- Second language acquisition & cross-linguistic communication
Research
- The focus of my research is already somewhat specialized because of my interest in educational law and policy, which is already a narrow focus. However, I continue to develop a broad but logically related research platform on all aspects of school and Constitutional law, including church & state issues, politics and policy, language policy, leadership issues, including relationship of higher education to primary and secondary education and governance issues in higher education. Also because of my assignment in the department, I am also focusing on rural education issues, especially as they relate to the topics above, and again, at the suggestion of my department, I am beginning to include international issues in my research interests.
