Application Requirements

Applicants should have a strong desire for a career in educational research, measurement, evaluation, or policy analysis. Evidence of this desire could include successful completion of previous coursework in research methods, statistics, and other related courses. Applicants should have completed a master's degree prior to enrolling in this doctoral program. Preference will be given to applicants who have work experience in schools or other educational settings. For application forms, please visit http://www.byu.edu/gradstudies.

Required Application Materials and Information

  1. A completed graduate school application form, available online at http://www.byu.edu/gradstudies/admissions/applynow.php
  2. Report of scores obtained on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
  3. Official transcripts of all previous college and university studies
  4. A letter of intent addressed to the admissions committee, including a description of your career goals and your reasons for applying to this program, along with any related coursework you have completed and any prior experience in conducting educational research, evaluation, or measurement projects.
  5. Letters of recommendation from three individuals who are familiar with your work and scholarly potential
  6. A completed Ecclesiastical Endorsement form
  7. For foreign students who do not have English as a native language, TOEFL exam scores

Successful applicants will be expected to enroll as full-time day students. Financial assistance will be provided in the form of a tuition waiver, a research assistantship renewable for up to three years, and health benefits.
