Professional Education Organizations

To broaden their point of view even further, education PhD students are encouraged to actively participate in inquiry-oriented professional societies by reading journals and other publications, attending and making presentations at annual meetings, and serving on committees, etc. A few examples of such societies include:

• American Educational Research Association (AERA)
• American Evaluation Association (AEA)
• American Educational Studies Association (AESA)
• National Council for Measurement in Education (NCME)
• Philosophy of Education Society (PES)
