This course will have you drumming, singing, moving and creating music. Students participate hands-on in elementary music learning activities. From reading music, to building a library of songs, to teaching singing games, students will learn how to integrate music making into their curriculum. Students explore strategies and create materials to use in their teaching. Most importantly, students will feel excited about music and confident in their ability to teach this important subject. Art For Elementary Teachers

Pre-service teachers have the opportunity to develop creative confidence as they experiment with many artistic media. Through hands-on experience, they gain technical skills and greater insight for how different materials can be used. By viewing, discussing, and critically analyzing art, they gain literacy skills for “reading” visual works. Students also gain practical experience in lesson planning and unit design, and have many opportunities to practice teaching.
