The David O. McKay School of Education at BYU will initiate a doctoral degree program in Educational Inquiry, Measurement, and Evaluation (EIME) beginning in Fall Semester, 2008. This program is designed to produce graduates with a PhD degree who can work productively as researchers, evaluators, measurement and assessment specialists, or policy analysts in a variety of settings including universities, government agencies (e.g., local or regional school district offices, states offices of education, or federal education agencies), test development companies, or private research and development firms. Applications for admission are now being accepted. Applicants should have a strong desire for a career in educational research, measurement, evaluation, or policy analysis. Evidence of this could include successful completion of previous coursework in research methods, statistics, and other related courses. Preference will be given to applicants who have a masters degree and work experience in schools or other educational settings. Successful applicants will be expected to enroll as full-time, day students. Financial assistance will be provided in the form of a tuition waiver, a research assistantship renewable for up to three years, and health benefits.
