APA Headings

APA Two Levels of Headings Example

Level One Heading

Level Three Heading

Note, that if your paper only uses two levels of headings, you leave out APA's level two heading and only use level one and three. The level one heading is centered, while the level three heading is flush left. Level three headings are italicized, while the level one heading is not. The first letter of all the major words are capitalized for both level one and three headings. Don't capitalize minor words (e.g., and, the, not, or, on, of).
