APA Three Levels of Headings Example

Level One Heading

Level Three Heading

Level four heading. Note, that if your paper only uses three levels of headings, you leave out APA's level two heading and only use level one, three and four. The level one heading is centered. Level three and four headings are italicized, while the level one heading is not. The first letter of all the major words are capitalized in the level one and three headings. Don't capitalize minor words (e.g., and, the, not, or, on, of). Level four headings are indented, end with a period, only the first word is capitalized, and body text follows the heading as shown in this example.
