Present Instruments
The data resulting from the following instruments, as administered through LiveText, are used in program renewal and accreditation. Students will complete these forms periodically throughout their program.
Arts Experience (AE): The AE form measures students’ previous experience with any of the arts: music, visual art, dance, theatre, and media arts.
Candidate Dispositional Scales (CDS): The CDS form is used to measure what candidates would do if they were to walk into the classroom today: how they would deal with diversity, collaborative learning, etc.
Clinical Practice Assessment Form (CPAS): The CPAS form is an INTASC-based field experience observation system used by Mentor Teachers and University Supervisors to evaluate candidates’ knowledge, skills, and dispositions.
Field Experience Demographics Form Worksheet (FED): The FED form records the diversity of the school in relation to the candidate’s individual classroom.
Professional and Interpersonal Behavior Rating Scale (PIBS): The PIBS form measures the student’s views on professional issues such as dress and grooming, personal integrity, and punctuality.
Teacher Work Sample Rubric and Prompt (TWS): The TWS project is a candidate’s capstone experience. It includes lesson plans, assessments, and examples of student work. Each candidate must upload the TWS into LiveText, where it will be graded according to the attached rubric.
Technology Skills Assessment (TSA): The TSA form is used to record the results of technology tests in four areas: word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and Internet and communications.
CPAS Excel Observation System: The CPAS Excel Observation System is used by faculty during field observation of practicum students, student teachers, and interns for formative and summative assessment.
