BS Special Education: 2016––2017 Program Requirements

Mild/Moderate Disabilities Track Minimum Credit Hours: 70 semester hours

Severe Disabilities Track Minimum Credit Hours: 73 semester hours

The table on the following page displays the classes you should take prior to beginning the program and suggestions for what semesters those classes should occur in (you will have other classes as well; however, only the classes for the special education major are shown). Also shown is the order in which you will take your classes once you have been admitted to the undergraduate program. (The special education major will complete the Global & Cultural Awareness GE upon successful completion of CPSE 480.) Your final semester will consist of student teaching or an internship. An internship continues through the entire school year, and interns are scheduled to graduate in June. The Education Advisement Center, located in 350 MCKB, has program maps for each track.
