Mission Statement

Engaging children through meaningful play to capitalize on and improve oral language skills and cultivate literacy.

Objectives

In creating SEEL, the following were kept as goals:

  • Be developmentally appropriate
  • Curriculum aligned with state standards
  • Provide explicit instruction that is playful
  • Variety of contacts across many contexts
  • Provide play that is meaningful to children
  • Easy to plan and do
  • Builds on the teacher’s own teaching style
  • Remain research based
  • Allows for incorporation of dance, drama, music, and art
  • Proven in classroom use
  • Cost effective
