If you are coming to visit BYU, be sure to check out The Wall. Opened in January 2013, The Wall is BYU’s newest on-campus venue, a place for anyone interested in fun, refreshments, live performances, and a place to relax.
Located on the first floor of Wilkinson Center near the bowling alley, former home of Outdoors Unlimited, The Wall is a lounge and restaurant with a cool metropolitan atmosphere. The venue includes an indoor fireplace, dining counter, nine large flat screen TVs, an outdoor patio, and a performance stage. The comfortable but cool environment makes it a great place to hang out, visit, and eat. The Wall’s menu includes sandwiches, salads, pizza, wings, and ice cream; it is already gaining a reputation for its delicious waffles and variety of drinks.
One of the prominent features of The Wall is its stone cold (granite) bar where soft drinks are served along with specialty drinks, all of which are, of course, non-alcoholic. Some of its signature mixes are Off the Wall, Cloud 9, The Dream, Tickle Me Pink, Sugar Lips, and the MowPow. Fruit slushes are available, as well as ice cream floats. No matter what you are in the mood for, The Wall has a cold beverage you’ll enjoy.
Along with the variety bar, delicious menu, and cool atmosphere, The Wall is quickly becoming a favorite spot on campus for live performances. In the evenings performances by bands and comedy groups, as well as dances, and theme nights are held at The Wall. Every Tuesday night is Open Mic Night, and every Wednesday night is Karaoke. Fridays and Saturdays usually feature local bands, which are always lively and entertaining. The Wall also keeps an up-to-date blog so that people can see the performance schedule and learn more about the performers.
Another attraction at The Wall, popular with BYU fans and children, is an opportunity for a picture with Cosmo. The life-sized bronze figure of Cosmo with his arms wide open and leg crossed is located on the east side of The Wall. It is easy to slide in right next to Cosmo on either side for a memorable photo.
Visiting The Wall is an unforgettable experience that the whole family can enjoy. The Wall is open on Monday through Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., on Friday from 7:45 a.m. to midnight, and on Saturday from 7:45 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Wall is closed on Sundays, holidays, and during campus forums and devotionals.
