Dolly Scharf

Dolly Scharf graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from BYU and began teaching fifth grade in the Nebo School District. She earned her Gifted and Talented endorsement a few years later and advocates for structuring her curriculum to meet the needs of all students. She also earned a Secondary Health endorsement and taught in the middle school. An opportunity to get a Master’s Degree in Education arose and she completed it through SUU in 2007 with an emphasis in Math Education. Throughout her teaching career she noticed that incorporating music, art, dance, and drama into the CORE subjects helped all students learn and retain the material. So she earned a Visual Arts endorsement in 2010. It has changed her paradigm on education and how valuable art is to learning. Dolly has studied privately with several professional artists and enjoys working with clay and coloured pencil. She has served as the District Art Resource Teacher for 12 years and has hundreds of hours in Arts training from Universities throughout Utah. Recently she taught in the K-6 Summer Arts Studio Program for the Nebo School District.
