2019–2020 McKay School Theme
“And the Lord called his people Zion, because they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them.”
Dean Prater has served the McKay School wonderfully but will retire in 2021. It's now time to find someone to fill her shoes. Read the AVP's memo to learn more about the selection process and how you can nominate a candidate.
Message From the Dean's Office
In his year (and some) as assistant dean of external relations, Mike Leonard has been honored to be around students, staff, and faculty committed to something more than themselves. His message is a reminder of the things we're doing right.
Check out the latest from your fellow faculty—and a special shout-out to Heidi Bussey (CPSE) for her first publication as an MSE professor.&

The Peery Film Series is back! Check out their website to see specific dates and films. The McKay School is sponsoring one of the November films on poverty, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. Consider having your students watch the movie (which is also available on Netflix) either as an assignment or extra credit. Contact Cindy Glad if you would like to extend the movie over Thanksgiving break or if you are interested in holding any additional events. There will be a discussion of the film on Wednesday, December 2, with Todd Manwaring, founder of the Ballard Center. Happy watching!
BYU dietetic students in the Food Management Lab need experience in managing, preparing, and serving food as part of a food management system in the Pendulum Court Café. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, they do not have the amount of business they normally do. Visit their website to view their weekly lunch menu and hours! Supporting students has never tasted so good.
November 3 is around the corner! The deadline to register to vote either online or by mail in Utah is October 23 by 5 p.m. (though you can also register on Election Day).
Check out Utah's voting website to track your ballot and learn about other important election dates. #civicduty
