c1Q: Where are you from?
A: I'm originally from Southern California, but spent that last 15 years in Denver, CO.

Q: What and where have you studied?
A: I earned my BS in audiology and speech-language pathology at BYU. Then, I attended the University of Colorado Boulder and received a clinical doctorate of audiology (AuD) and a PhD in speech, language, and hearing sciences and cognitive neuroscience. I also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado Medical School.

Q: Where have you previously worked?
A: I worked in the greater Denver/Boulder area as a clinical Audiologist providing early intervention services for Spanish-speaking families with hearing-impaired children. I also worked as an NIH-funded research scientist at Colorado State University.

Q: Why did you choose to work at BYU?
A: I think scholarship necessarily includes both teaching and research—they complement each other. The balance that BYU strives to promote between teaching and research is more favorable than that of other universities—it resonates with my philosophies about and love for both activities. I also love that I can talk openly about spiritual matters with my students and colleagues.
