Summer 2020 is here! Although we may be physically far apart, we can still be together in spirit!

Thank you to everyone who attended the MSE Grants Development Faculty Workshop on May 21. If you missed it or want a refresher, check out this presentation; it provides new information about MSE grants in 2021 and resources for creating a winning proposal. If you currently have an MSE award for a project that is delayed due to COVID-19, please see the presentation for information on submitting a revision by August 31, 2020.

Internal Grant Opportunities

MSE Research Grants

If you received an MSE Research Grant after the 2016–2017 cycle and plan to reapply this fall (the grant deadline has been moved to October 1), you will need to show that you have applied for external funding for your project. Please contact me if you have questions or need information on potential funders.

Experiential Learning Grant

The next deadline for ELGs is July 1. Contact Jaynie Mitchell and Steve Christensen for assistance and preapproval of your proposal.

President’s Innovation Funding for Research-Practice Partnership (RPP)

Developing a mutually beneficial research project that meets the needs of both BYU and your K–12 school partner can create deep, long-lasting New! partnerships that benefit all involved. Thanks to a recent $60,000 award from the BYU President’s Innovation Fund, the dean will be awarding up to four Research-Practice Partnership–focused grants this fall. CFS-track MSE and EPP faculty are eligible to submit a pre-proposal concept paper that outlines your plan to collaborate with BYUPublic School Partnership schools and/or districts by October 1, 2020. For more information on developing Research-Practice Partnerships and this award opportunity, contact Jaynie Mitchell
