Message from AVP Shane Reese
Dear McKay School Faculty and Staff,
As you are no doubt aware, Dean Mary Anne Prater approached me last fall with her intention to retire. Mary Anne has continued to demonstrate her commitment to the students, faculty, and staff in the McKay School of Education as we have worked towards the appointment of an interim dean, before conducting a national search for the next dean. As additional evidence of her commitment to the McKay School, Mary Anne recently approached me and offered to continue as dean for up to one year. With the unprecedented changes and uncertainty resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, I am pleased and grateful Dean Prater has accepted my invitation to continue her appointment as dean until my office can conduct a full national search for her replacement. Conditions permitting, the search would begin in the fall. I am humbled and pleased by Mary Anne’s willingness to serve in her current role. We are blessed as a university by her service as dean.
