Q: Where are you from?
A: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Q: What and where have you studied?
A: Experience design and management, BYU
Q: Where have you previously worked?
A: Xactware in Lehi as an employee development specialist and Creekside Mortgage in Pleasant Grove as a customer experience specialist
Q: Why did you choose to work at BYU?
A: I worked in the Education Advisement Center as a student for a few years and missed the atmosphere on campus and working with students once I graduated.
Q: What accomplishment are you most proud of?
A: Graduating from college debt-free with no help from family. During my senior year of high school, I was awarded the Dell Scholarship, which was a huge blessing and aided in getting me started. I was the first student in my school district and the third student in New Mexico to receive it. In addition to that, I received the occasional scholarship from BYU and worked throughout college to pay my way through the rest of school. It has been a huge blessing to me and my husband as we make plans for the future!
Q: What do you regret not starting or doing when you were younger?
A: Continuing cello lessons. I played for four years before quitting and frequently regret it.
Q: What was the first career you dreamed of having as a kid?
A: Being a nurse. Until I realized how much I hated science classes.
Q: Best Halloween costume you have had?
A: The Cheetah Girls and Angel (from The Cheetah Girls 2) with college roommates and one of their husbands. I’ve never seen so much cheetah print in one room.
Q: What’s the most exciting thing you’ll do in 2020?
A: My husband and I are building a house, which will be done in December. We’re both excited to never live in a dingy apartment again.
Q: What is your go-to weeknight meal?
A: Green chile chicken enchiladas. They’re definitely a family favorite.
Q: Where is your favorite place to go on vacation?
A: My husband has me hooked on cruises. There isn’t anywhere specific, but if it’s a cruise I’m in.
