After graduating from BYU, Pat Burk became a stay-at- home mom for 24 years. She has lived in Utah, Florida, Puerto Rico, and Texas. She renewed her elementary teaching certificate and certified in special education while working as a substitute.
She now teaches LIFE (Living in a Functional Environment) Skills classes in Cypress, Texas, developing proposals and assessments for the LIFE Skills program. She is currently working on English as a second language certification.
“I’ve learned that one never stops learning or teaching, and that even the student who gives you the hardest time can be touched by a teacher who gives love, patience, and respect.” Pat and her husband, William, are the parents of seven children.
