Q: Where are you from? 
A: I was born in Texas but mostly grew up in New Mexico. I lived in a different state for each year of high school.

Q: What and where have you studied? 
A: I completed a bachelor’s degree at BYU in English, a master’s degree from the University of Utah in special education, and a PhD from Penn State in special education. 

Q: Where have you previously worked? 
A: This is my first full-time faculty job. One of my favorite jobs is being a husband and father! I loved working on the BYU Grounds crew when I was an undergraduate student. I taught special needs seminary and was a special education teacher in Jordan School District.

Q: What stat for your life would you most like to see?
A: I would like to run a marathon in three hours. 👟

Q: What would you rate 10/10?
A: My wife! She is amazing! I’m so lucky to have her! Also, the faculty in the CPSE department! They have been very welcoming. Thank you!

Q: Do you collect anything?
A: Books, especially children’s books. 

Q: What is your go-to weeknight meal?
A:
Some of my favorite meals are homemade pizza, tomato sandwiches, and beans and flatbread! 

Q: What weird food combinations do you really enjoy?
A: I really like freshly grated carrots as a topping on my pancakes, and also zested lemon peel and lemon juice! 🥞🥕🍋

Q: Where is your favorite place to go on vacation?
A: We really love to go on vacation anywhere, even if it is just a short weekend trip. We have been trying to go to some of the national parks and monuments nearby, and that has been fun. We really love visiting southern California. We would love to go to the Oregon Coast, Northern California, Vancouver, Ireland, and Italy someday.

A: “Isn’t it ideal, absolutely ideal.” —White Christmas ❄️🎄
