Instructions: This 2016 Kaha Nui Summit will also be hosting a Pacific Islander high school student essay writing contest for those who will be attending the summit on November 11, 2016. Please submit your 500-word essay by October 24, 2016, at 11:59 p.m. All essays submitted after this date and time will not be included in the contest. Your essay will be judged based on honesty, cohesiveness, self-reflection, and insightfulness. The results of the essay writing contest will be announced during the catered lunch, between 12:00–1:30 p.m., in the Wilkinson Center, room 3290. We strongly encourage all high school students to be present for the contest results. Please submit your essay to gekawika_allen@byu.edu. Please write your essay based on the questions below.
