Using a systemic approach with the focus on instructional best practices and personalizing education to her students at He'eia Elementary in Hawaii, she received the Blue Ribbon Award in 2012. Under her leadership, King Intermediate School received the STRIVE HI recognition in 2013 for having the most increases in math and ELA, which brought them quickly out of restructuring and made them a high-achieving school in two short years. Sheena then transferred to Castle High School (a struggling school) and established systems and interventions to ensure student success. As the current principal for Kamehameha High School in Oahu, Hawaii, she is looking forward to using her skills and knowledge to help the students excel in being globally minded, world-class leaders. Sheena holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Brigham Young University–Hawaii and a master's degree in administration leadership from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
