Brief Biography

I taught students at the secondary level for approximately 15 years in general and special education before obtaining a Ph.D. in Special Education from Utah State University. Since that time I have been employed at BYU as a research associate faculty member in the Counseling Psychology and Special Education Department.

Teaching Interests

Introduction to Special Education Courses (CPSE 300 & CPSE 402), Social and Behavioral Strategies (CPSE 442), Applied Behavior Analysis (CPSE 410), Collaboration (CPSE 460), Single Subject Design (CPSE 673).

Research Interests

My research interests include single subject and group designs to test the effects of academic and behavioral interventions for children with disabilities or at risk for being identified as having a disability. I also conduct research to assess the effects of our special education teacher preparation program on teacher candidate and K-6 student performance
