EdD Program announces new cohort beginning Summer 2012

Students of the EDLF educational doctorate program love to work weekends. That's because with the help of the EdD program at Brigham Young University, full-time administrators can participate in the EdD program without having to leave their careers.

The EdD program offers a three year program where students meet six weekends a semester for rigorous and innovative classes, helping them to become a better leader.

Beginning this summer, the doctoral program will accept a new 2012 cohort.

EdD Chair Visits Peru

Scott Ferrin, Chair of the Educational Doctorate Program, visited Peru in November 2011, working with NGO's and other professors to observe how he could improve higher education in Peru. Ferrin, who does not particularly care to travel, claimed that Peru was the "star of South America," and thoroughly enjoyed his time there. While there, he was honored with a diploma recognizing his important contributions to the International Forum in Peru. He also met with Pervuian dignitaries such as the First Lady of Peru. Ferrin hopes to improve education for all Peruvians, keeping in conjunction with the McKay School's mission to "improve learning and teaching in the school as well as in the home, church, and community worldwide."
