About
The BYU Education Society is building a force of BYU education alumni and friends to address literacy needs around the world. We are serving our Heavenly Father’s children, helping women, men, missionaries, and immigrants learn how to read. We are accomplishing this through serving as Church Service Missionaries and volunteers in the General Relief Society’s literacy initiative, administered by the Church’s Welfare and Self-Reliance Department.
The BYU Education Society is an affinity group within the BYU Alumni Association, emphasizing literacy, learning, and connection. Our primary goal is to address literacy needs locally and around the world through service opportunities and projects.
It is through literacy that we come to
know God and Jesus Christ.
