1. Where are you from? 

Tough to say—I moved around a lot as a child. I was born in Texas and lived in Boston, MA, Jacksonville, FL, the Four Corners area in Southern Utah and Logan, UT. 

 

2. What and where have you studied? 
English, Literature, and Writing BA and MS from Utah State University. 

 

3. Where have you previously worked? 
I have worked at Utah State University, Salt Lake Community College, Westminster College, and University of Utah in various teaching, mentoring, and academic advising leadership positions.   

 

4. What is your current job title? Please describe what you do in that position. 
Marketing and recruitment manager.  

 

5. What is your favorite thing about the McKay School? 
I love working with all the wonderful people here who are committed to making an impact through the power of transformative education. I truly believe that education has the power to change lives for the better. 

 

6. Best Halloween costume you have had? 
Miss Frizzle from the Magic School Bus series—underwater ocean themed attire, plus my husband was the bus and my daughter was Liz. 

 

7. What would you rate 10/10? 
Magleby’s chocolate cake and The Cure’s Disintegration album 

 

8. What are you most likely to become famous for? 
I’d say I’m adjacent to fame via my husband’s side hobby of creating Christmas displays out of candy for the Macy’s City Creek holiday window displays for the past seven years. For about two months ahead of the reveal my garage is full of about a thousand pounds of candy, which my husband artfully arranges into intricate displays that bring holiday cheer to downtown Salt Lake.  

 

9. What is your go-to weeknight meal? 
Anything made in a Crock-Pot!  

 

10. Where could we find you on most Saturday mornings? 
Expediting my family out of the house to go on some sort of weekend adventure: zoo, aquarium, park, hiking, etc.  

 

11. Where is your favorite place to go on vacation? 
Disneyland or anywhere near the ocean. 

 

12. Would you rather spend a night out on the town or stay home inside with a book? 
Both in one weekend—one night out and one night in! 

 

13. What movie quotes do you use on a regular basis? 
“I can’t go back to jail!” from Monster’s University
