MSE Grant Proposal Development and Submission Process

  • Identify a funding opportunity and research funder—contact as advised
  • Review funding opportunity with your MSE grant development specialist and follow MSE grant checklist
  • Create a timeline, logic model, project summary, and management plan as required
  • Inform your chair and the dean in writing of intent to apply—include the project summary
  • Inform ORCA office of intent to submit for a specific grant and meet with Jaynie Mitchell and Steve Christensen to develop your budget.
  • Complete the required KUALI Research forms and obtain supporting documents
  • Make sure your Conflict of Interest (COI) training is up to date
  • Submit IRB and Request to Conduct Research in Partnership Schools if required
  • Review proposal internally with peers/grant development specialist and revise as necessary
  • Work with MSE Controller to review/sign off on the KUALI Research budget summary via email to the chair and the dean
  • Proposals with technology components must get approval from MSE computer services (CSR) and/or web director
