State the Objective
Tell the children that they will make some tasty treats as they recognize and name the letter T/t.
Literacy Activities
Tasty Treats
- Write and name the letter T/t.
- Have the children write T and t in the air with their fingers.
- Have the children write Ts on small pieces of paper.
- Allow the children to place their Ts by the tasty treats.

Have the children wash their hands, then let the children place a large letter card (see below) on a plate or nap
kin.
- Introduce and pass out “Teacher’s Tasty Treats” to the children (e.g., licorice, taffy, or pretzels).

Let the children turn their tasty treats into the shape of T and t by twisting, turning, and breaking them to cover
the letters on the large letter card.
- Allow the children to eat their tasty treats.
Identify and write the target letter

Write a variety of letters , with the majority of them being the letter T/t, and let the children circle the letter T/t.
- Have them children write the letter T/t on their plate or napkin.
