State the Objective
Tell the children that they will tape the letter T to a tent as they recognize and name the letter T/t.
Literacy Activities
Tent with T
- Write and name the letter T/t.
- Have the children write the T and t in the air.
- Set up a tent using a large sheet or cloth over chairs or a table.
- Help the children write the letter T/t on small pieces of paper.
- Have the children say “T” as they pick half of the Ts and tape them on the T tent.
Make a T trail
- Give the children a tent picture (see below) and help them write the letter T/t on the tent.
- Have the children place half of the T letter cards in a trail to the tent.
- Comment:
- “We made a T trail!”
- “The T trail takes us to the T tent!”
- “Tiptoe on each T to the tent!”
