Make a Seed Sprout

A sprout is a seed that starts to grow.
To make a sprout, put a seed in a wet towel.
Let it sit for a few days.
Then check to see if the seed begins to sprout.
The seed sprouts when the plant starts to push out.

A Sprout in a Spout and a Seed in a Cup

A plant can grow from a seed or a sprout.
See which will sprout out first.
Plant a sprout in a spout.
Plant a seed in a cup.
Put water in the spout and in the cup.
Wait a few days.
Did a plant begin to sprout out from the spout or the cup?

Make a Snout Out of a Spout

You can make a snout out of a spout.
Tape a paper snout onto a spout.
Turn the spout into a snout.
You can scout for spouts and snouts.
Don’t pout if you don’t find a snout made out of a spout.
Don’t pout if you can’t scout for a spout or snout.

My Snout Shout

I put my snout on.
I take my snout off.
I put my snout on.
And I twist it all around.
I twist and turn my snout.
And I give a little SHOUT.
My snout is made out of a spout!

Spout Shout

I put my spout in.
I put my spout out.
I put my spout in.
And I shake it all about.
I twist and turn my spout.
And I give a little SHOUT.
I can shout out the spout!

Scout for a Pouch

I made a pouch.
But I slouched down on a couch with my pouch.
I lost my pouch!
And I pouted and acted like a grouch.
I scouted for my pouch.
I found the pouch.
I shouted out loud,
     “I don’t have to pout!
     “I’m not a grouch!
“I found my pouch by the couch!”

Watch Out for That Pouch!

Ow! Ouch!
The pouch snagged a finger.

Get your finger out!
Shout!
Watch out for that pouch!

A Hound Found in the Pound

We knew of a hound that slept on a mound.
His mound was made of blankets on the ground.
He would sit up on the mound to look around.
But one day, we could not find the hound on his mound.
The hound could not be found.

"Hound! Hound!"

Then we found some round shapes on the ground.
The round shapes led us to the dog pound, a place for lost hounds.

We found our hound in the pound!
We took our hound back to his mound.

He looked around and then curled up to sleep on the mound.
We are very happy to have found our hound!

A Blouse for a Mouse

I heard a sound in my house.
It was a small sound, not a loud shout.
I scouted around and found a mouse under the couch.
I found out that the mouse wanted a blouse.
So I found a blouse for the mouse.
I found a blouse that fit the mouse.
Then the mouse flounced around the house in the blouse.

I found a blouse for the mouse!
The mouse was proud of her blouse!

A House for a Mouse

I met a mouse who needed a house.
I scouted around for a house for the mouse.

I found a house—a hole in the ground.
But the mouse did not want a house in the ground.
That house made her pout and shout.
She did not want that house.

I found a house with a tree sprouting out.
But the mouse did not want a tree in her house.
That house made her pout and shout.
She did not want that house.

I found an outhouse.
But the mouse did not want a bad smell in her house.
That house made her pout and shout.
She did not want that house.

I found a bounce house.
But the mouse did not want to bounce in her house.
That house made her pout and shout.
She did not want that house.

Finally, I found a perfect house for a mouse.

The mouse was proud of her house.
The mouse loved her new house!
I even got a couch for the mouse.
It’s like no other house for a mouse.
