Linda's Magic /sw/ Sweater Story

Linda wanted to switch and swap sweaters.
Her sweater wasn’t swanky.
Her sweater wasn’t sweet.
But it was a cold day,
So she put on her sweater and went swinging.
She sat in the swing,
And swatted at the flies and the swarming bees.
Suddenly, she swayed on the swing,
And there was no breeze!
All of a sudden, her sweater pushed her out of her seat!
But she didn’t fall—
She flew!
She flew past swift planes,
And swooshed through the clouds,
And then she swooped down,
And dove like a swan
Into the swells of the sea.
Her sweater swam for her
Through the swirling waves of the sea.
Her magic sweater.
Finally her sweater finished swimming
And swung her back into her swing.
Linda swore she didn’t want to swap sweaters.
Her sweater was swanky.
Her sweater was sweet.

Swoosh Away Swans and Swallows

SWOOSH!
‘SWOOSH’ is a powerful word.
When I say SWOOSH, things swiftly disappear.
They go swish and swirl away.
I said, “SWOOSH!” at a zoo to some swerving swallows.
The swerving swallows swiftly swirled out of sight.
I said, “SWOOSH!” to a swarm of bees.
The swarm of bees swiftly swirled out of sight.
I said, “SWOOSH!” to some swimming swans.
The swimming swans swiftly swirled out of sight.
I said, “SWOOSH!” to a swinging monkey.
The swinging monkey swiftly swirled out of sight.
But the people at the zoo didn’t want me to say ‘SWOOSH’.
They wanted to see the swallows and the swarm of bees.
The people wanted to see the swan and the swinging monkey.
So this time I said SWISH, not SWOOSH as I swung and swiveled around.
Then SWOOSH! The swallows, the swarm of bees, the swan and the swinging monkey swooped back into place.
SWOOSH and SWISH are both powerful words.

Swoosh and Swish

SWOOSH!
I saw some swerving swallows.
The swerving swallows went swoosh and swish and swooped away.
I saw a swarm of bees.
The swarm of bees went swoosh and swish and swirled away.
I saw some swimming swans.
The swimming swans went swoosh and swish and swiftly swam away.
I saw a swinging monkey.
The swinging monkey went swoosh and swish and swiftly swung away.
Swoosh and swish!
The swallows, swarm of bees, swan, and swinging monkey all swiftly went away.

Swept Away to a Park

It’s a hot day and you might want to be swept away.
You could be swept away to a pretend park with swimming, swings, and rides.
You’ll swim in a pool and dive like a swan.
Swiftly you’ll swirl through the water while you swim.
You’ll swivel on a swing and sway in the wind.
Swiftly you’ll swoosh through the air while you swing.
You’ll swoop through the air on rides in the park.
Swiftly you’ll swivel through the air while you swoop.
You will switch and swap places in the park.
Then you will be swept away again and put back where you began.
How swell to be swept away to swim, swing, and swoop!

Swept Away to a Picnic

It is sweet to be swept away to a swell picnic.
Sway in the breeze and try not to sweat.
Eat sweets but don’t get crumbs on your sweater.
Swat at swerving flies but not at swarming bees.
Switch and swap places at the picnic.
Sit and relax at the swell picnic.
How swell to be swept away to a picnic!

How Swell

How swell!
There are lots of things to do that begin with sw.
We got to act out lots of sw words.
We got to swerve, swivel, and swing.
We pretended to swim, sweep, swirl.
We got to swiftly swoop down.
We got to swoop down like a swallow.
Sweet!

Swap sw Word Cards

Let’s play a swap and switch game.
We each get two sw cards.
The cards have sw words on them:
Swim, swing, swift, swoop, swell, sweet, swallow, sweep, swirl, swerve, swivel, switch, swine, swim, sweater, sweat, sway, swat, swap, swan, and swallow.
We get to ask someone to switch sw words.
We swap sw words in order to get a pair.

Let's Swap sw Things

Let’s swap sweaters.
Let’s swap a swan that swims slowly for a swan that swims swiftly.
Let’s swap a swine that eats sweets for a swine that doesn’t eat sweets.
Let’s swap a slow swing for a swift swing.
Let’s swap a sweaty swine for a swine that isn’t sweaty.
Let’s swap a scummy swamp for a swamp that isn’t scummy.
Let’s swap a swarm of flies for a fly that isn’t a swarm.
Let’s swap a swallow that swoops and swirls for a swallow that flies swiftly.

Swoop Down and Sprinkle sw Words Text

I stand and swivel away.
A swallow swoops down swiftly.
He sprinkled some sw words on me.
Cards with words like sway, sweet, swing.
Swell, I said. Now I have to sweep up all these cards.
Then I had to sweep up the cards.
