State and Model the Objective
Tell the children that they will slip things in and out of a bag or sack and read a text with short vowel words, such as lid, slip, sack, and snack.
Literacy Activities
Slip things in bags or sacks
- Show a sack and explain that sack is another name for a bag.
- Show a bottle top and explain that lid and cap are different names for a container cover.
- Let the children pick a lid or a cap.
- Have the children slip the lid or cap in a bag, sack, or snack pack.
- Show the children how to tip the sack or bag to let the object slip out.
- Have the children pick up items that slip out of the bags or sacks.
