A Fat Cat's Story
The Story | The Actions |
---|---|
My friend’s cat is named Pat. Pat is a fat cat. |
Hold up the fat cat puppet. Show the real "Before" picture of the cat. |
One day, Pat, the fat cat, sat by a swimming pool. But the fat cat did not want to get wet. |
Show the picture of a pool. Let Pat sit by the pool. |
Suddenly a bat swooped down. |
Hold the bat puppet over the pool. |
Pat, the fat cat, wanted the bat to scat. The cat wanted to bat at the bat. |
Have the children chant, "Scat, bat, scat!" Make the cat jump up and bat at the bat. |
Pat, the fat cat, jumped up to swat at the bat. |
Swat at the bat saying, "Scat, bat!" |
But the cat fell into the water. Splat! |
Let the cat fall in the water. |
The fat cat got mad! Pat, the fat cat, was mad! |
Make mad faces. |
Pat, the fat cat, got out of the water fast. |
Get the paper cat out of the water. |
Pat, the fat cat, went pat, pat, pat to his dish. His feet went pat, pat, pat. |
Pretend hands are paws that go pat, pat, pat. |
And the wet cat dripped -- drip, drop, drip, drop. Splat, splat, splat! |
Make a water dripping gesture (open and close fingers in a flicking motion). |
Pat sat and ate and ate! And just like that he forgot about the bat. |
Have the children rub their tummies. Show the "after" photo of the wet cat eating from the dish. |
Let's pet the fat cat. Give the cat a pat. |
Make a gesture as if petting the cat. |
