Paper Marbling and Book Making

Session 3: Grades 4-6

In this session, participants will make a single signature booklet and a single page booklet. Participants will also create marbled paper using a carrageenan sizing and water based paints. Decorative papers will be used for the inside of the book and marbled paper for the outside cover. We will discuss how teachers can acquire affordable materials for this project. Connections will be made to language arts, history, and science. Everyone enjoys writing in books, especially those that are self made. This is a great project to do with your students.
